Powell’s governorship extends until 2028, and he has indicated his intention to continue serving as a governor for an undetermined period. When asked whether he would take action regarding Powell’s decision to remain, Trump responded: “No, I don’t care if he stays. I just want to make sure Kevin gets the job.”
