According to ChainCatcher, Brazil’s Central Bank issued Resolution 561 recently, prohibiting the use of virtual assets for settlement in regulated eFX cross-border payment and transfer services. The regulation requires eFX service providers to conduct payments and receipts with overseas counterparties through foreign exchange transactions or non-resident Brazilian real accounts. The restriction applies to both approved eFX providers and those in transition periods.
