Amazon and Microsoft Support Nvidia's Chip Restrictions To China
Tech giants Amazon and Microsoft have backed Nvidia’s chip limitations to China, according to a report from WSJ. The US government banned Nvidia from selling its AI chip to the Communist country early this year. The ban comes after the AI wars heated up with China becoming the top competitor. The US wants to dominate the next-gen technology and disallow any help towards China. “We cannot sell them to China. We cannot sell them to other people,” said Trump.

We cannot sell them to other people,”**While Microsoft has openly supported Nvidia’s chip restrictions to China, Amazon executives have privately told Senators that they back the move. Other tech giants like Meta and Alphabet have not taken a side on the act. Trump remains fiercely competitive with China as the race for AI domination heats up. “These are super powerful chips. We’re not going to let them fall into the wrong hands,” the President quipped.

Trump banned Nvidia from selling its most advanced Blackwell chip to China, and now Amazon and Microsoft support the move. Just recently, Nvidia’s CEO Jensen Huang made a statement that “China will win the AI race” against the US. He cited regulations and red tape in the US that are holding back the technology. China, on the other hand, has no such issues, and firms in the region leverage the flexible regulations, said Huang.
