Vitalik proposed a new direction for Ethereum L1 scaling, emphasizing local nodes and user privacy.
PANews, May 19th news - According to a research post released by Vitalik Buterin, he proposed to include an adjustment of “favoring local nodes” in the Ethereum scaling roadmap to mitigate the impact of increasing Gas limits on individuals running full nodes. Vitalik pointed out that the significant value of personal nodes lies not only in on-chain verification but also in the privacy and censorship resistance needs as a local RPC for reading chain data. His suggestions include: accelerating the comprehensive implementation of EIP-4444, building decentralized historical data storage, adjusting the Gas mechanism to increase the cost of new state storage, and proposing a new model of “partial stateless nodes” that allows users to save key states on demand, balancing storage efficiency and local privacy.
