Gate.io Data, January 28th - On January 27th, local time, Spanish Prime Minister Sanchez met with NATO Secretary General Stoltenberg at the Prime Minister’s Office in Madrid to discuss defense spending, EU defense industry, and NATO-EU relations. Sanchez promised Stoltenberg that the country’s defense investment will reach 2% of GDP by 2029, while emphasizing that the country’s defense spending has increased by 70% in the past decade. NATO member countries pledged in 2014 to increase their defense spending as a percentage of GDP to 2% within 10 years.
