This year, crypto games are really gaining momentum. I've noticed that more and more people are not just playing for fun but also earning real money through blockchain. Interestingly, the market for these games is valued at tens of billions of dollars, and this is just the beginning.
I took on the task of exploring three projects that are currently in the spotlight. Axie Infinity remains a classic in the genre — monsters, battles, NFT trading. The AXS and SLP tokens are still relevant, although prices fluctuate (AXS is now around $1.08). The blockchain game on Ronin still maintains hundreds of thousands of active players.
The Sandbox interests me the most. It’s not just a game but a whole ecosystem where you build your virtual world and can monetize it. The SAND token recently showed growth, currently trading around $0.07. Well-known brands like Adidas are already creating their spaces there — this hints at serious potential for the metaverse.
Illuvium is a more advanced level. AAA-quality graphics, serious gameplay, all on Ethereum via Immutable X. The ILV token is going through a tough period (around $3.60), but the project remains relevant thanks to its focus on staking and rewards.
What attracts me to these crypto games? They provide real ownership of assets through NFTs, which can be traded on major exchanges. Layer 2 blockchain fees are low, making the economy more accessible. If crypto games continue to develop at this pace, 2026 could be a pivotal year for the entire GameFi industry.
Which of these tokens would you choose for your portfolio? Each has its niche and potential.
