I recently came across an interesting post by Kimball Musk on X, where he was quite critical of Trump's policies and tariffs. You know, he's the guy who usually stays in the shadow of his famous brother Elon but occasionally steps into the spotlight with some pretty sharp comments.

Kimball Musk is the brother of Elon, easily recognizable by his distinctive cowboy hat. He’s 52 years old, and although he’s not as media-famous as his brother, he has his own fortune of around $700 million, mainly from Tesla shares. Interestingly, both brothers look very similar — same square jaw, straight nose, green eyes. Both were born in Pretoria and hold South African, Canadian, and American citizenship.

What sets Kimball Musk apart from other family members is his consistent commitment to charity and environmental initiatives. Unlike Elon, with his space ambitions, Kimball focuses on issues related to the planet and nutrition. Together with his sister Tosca, he endured a difficult childhood — their family experienced violence, which led to their mother Maya’s divorce in 1979. After that, the family moved to Canada and then to the United States.

Interesting fact: the brothers once co-founded Zip2 — a startup that provided business software for the internet. They sold it in 1999 to Compaq for $307 million. That was their first major successful deal, although Elon later went further with PayPal and Tesla.

Despite their different views on politics and economics, the brothers love each other very much. Kimball Musk remains true to his principles — environmental protection, charity, and critical thinking. His recent post about tariffs shows that he’s not afraid to voice his opinion, even if it differs from his more famous brother’s stance.
