Oil tanker carrying Iraqi crude passes through the Strait of Hormuz

LSEG and Kpler data show that a tanker carrying Iraqi crude oil was spotted transiting the Strait of Hormuz via a route close to the Iranian coastline one day after Iran signaled that Iraq would be exempt from the restrictions on this key shipping lane. Kpler data show that the “Ocean Thunder” loaded about 1 million barrels of Basra heavy crude oil on March 2, and is expected to discharge in late April or mid-April in Port Klang, Malaysia.
