JiaYu Capital Wei Zhe: In about ten years, humans will work less than 4 days a week.
Topic: The Second New Hushang Conference for High-Quality Development
The Fifth Second Members’ Representative Conference of the Shanghai New Hushang Chamber of Commerce and the Second New Hushang Conference for High-Quality Development were held in Shanghai on March 29. Wei Zhe, founder and managing partner and chairman of Garry Yu Capital, attended and delivered a speech.
Wei Zhe pointed out that the deciding factor in the success or failure of AI development is whether people can “afford it.” He believes that China’s core strategy for AI development should not blindly copy the U.S. approach of “high-stakes, high-profile action,” but instead should leverage China’s strengths.
He mentioned that last year’s “shockwave” from DeepSeek proved that being able to “afford it” is the key. What China needs is “domestically produced alternative solutions,” not simply “domestic substitution.”
In his speech, Wei Zhe put forward three bold predictions for the future: 1) In about three years, the number of apps on phones will be reduced by half, and most functions will be replaced by intelligent agents. 2) In about ten years, human working hours will be cut to less than 4 days per week. 3) AI will bring disruptive changes in the healthcare sector; although legislation may lag, the technology will break through first.
