Lebanon Hezbollah issued a statement on the 5th, saying that in order to defend Lebanon and its people, and in response to the Israeli Defense Forces’ continued bombing of villages and cities, destruction of infrastructure, and the expulsion of civilians, Hezbollah carried out an attack at 12:05 a.m. local time on the 5th, in waters 68 nautical miles off the coast of Lebanon, against an Israeli warship that was preparing to attack Lebanese territory. Hezbollah said the strike was carried out after several hours of monitoring of the target, using a cruise missile, and that it confirmed a direct hit on the target. In recent weeks, Israeli warships have carried out attacks multiple times against Lebanese territory. Israel has not responded to this as of yet. (CCTV News)
