As military operations against Iran continue, support for the fighting has declined among the public inside Israel, especially the share of people who say they “strongly support” the war, which has fallen noticeably compared with early March. A public opinion survey by the Israel Democracy Institute was conducted in this month from the 22nd to the 26th, with 756 respondents who are Israeli residents aged 18 and over, including both Jewish and Arab citizens. In recent days, dozens of peace organizations, including Israel’s “Peace Partner Plan,” held their first joint gathering to protest against the Israeli government’s “endless war.” On the 28th, an anti-war protest in the central city of Tel Aviv at Habima Square drew more than 1,000 attendees, making it the largest turnout in the past month. Some protesters said that “after just a few minutes, ” the police began to disperse the crowd, citing “for your safety.” Reports say that the military and police rushed into the crowd and began driving away protesters, causing several people to fall to the ground; the event later turned into a confrontation. By the 29th, about 20 protesters had been arrested by Israeli police in Tel Aviv and the northern city of Haifa. (CCTV News)
