It's not just the Strait of Hormuz! Global shipping is facing an unprecedented double-lock dilemma

Currently, Iran’s Revolutionary Guard has effectively blocked the Strait of Hormuz. At the same time, the Houthi rebels have announced a resumption of attacks in the Red Sea, marking the first time that the world’s two major maritime chokepoints are simultaneously in crisis.

Maersk, CMA CGM, MSC, and other global shipping giants have all suspended transit through the Suez Canal and the Strait of Hormuz, putting pressure on the Asia-Europe shipping rates to surge again.
