South Korea Will Accelerate Implementation of U.S. Investor Legislation

During his recent diplomatic visits to the United States, South Korea’s Minister of Trade, Industry, and Energy, Kim Jung-gwan, confirmed the South Korean government’s intention to swiftly implement the investment legislation requested by Washington. The announcement reveals South Korea’s political commitment to strengthen bilateral economic ties and fulfill previously established tariff commitments.

Deepening Bilateral Understandings

The minister told the press at Incheon Airport that recent discussions helped dispel misunderstandings about tariff issues. During his stay, Kim Jung-gwan held two meetings with U.S. Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo, where he outlined South Korea’s official position regarding potential delays in introducing regulations to encourage South Korean investment in the United States.
