Seeing Amazon layoffs, many people think the reason for the corporate sickness is too many middle managers who don't produce anything. A major illusion among modern white-collar workers is that they are working hard while managers only make PPTs. Wake up, without managers' PPTs, your department wouldn't exist, so what’s the point of working hard? If the work you're doing could be directly monetized, why would you still work for the company? A manager's PPT is indirectly helping your work to be monetized.
