#以太坊发展与前景 Seeing Vitalik's recent remarks, several historical moments flashed through my mind.
Remember the 2017 bull market? Many projects launched under the banner of "efficiency," claiming they would outpace Visa and crush traditional finance. And what happened? Most of them faded into history dust. Ethereum, however, has persisted until today, not because of its high TPS or a silky user experience, but because it truly achieved decentralization, permissionlessness, and resistance to censorship.
This time, Vitalik emphasizing resilience over efficiency is honestly a correction of a direction that has been collectively misunderstood for years. Many later projects are desperately chasing numbers, thinking that reducing latency by 100 milliseconds or increasing yields by 1% can change the world. But they completely miss the essence—when big internet companies, government agencies, or a country try to ban you, those micro-optimizations are worthless.
I recall myself in 2015, when I didn't understand why decentralization mattered so much. Now, after experiencing many cycles and seeing the rise and fall of numerous projects, I realize: resilience is vitality, the ability to survive in the worst circumstances. The recent failure of Infinex's mechanism essentially reflects this issue—when your system relies on centralized decision-making power, trust can break down quickly, leading to collapse.
Ethereum's game to win is truly a long-term, sovereignty-related game. For someone like me, an OG, this feels like hearing the echo of the Genesis moment.
