Satellite internet providers are expanding access in restricted regions. According to activists, free connectivity has begun reaching Iran through orbital network infrastructure. Mehdi Yahyanejad, a Los Angeles-based activist involved in distributing terminal units, confirmed the rollout to The Associated Press. Multiple activists have corroborated reports of the service becoming operational.

This development reflects growing efforts to ensure network access and digital freedom globally. Satellite-based internet bypasses traditional terrestrial infrastructure constraints, enabling connectivity in underserved or geographically isolated markets. The move raises broader questions about decentralized network infrastructure and its role in supporting open communication channels worldwide.

As Web3 communities increasingly emphasize censorship-resistant technologies and global accessibility, such infrastructure initiatives align with principles of network sovereignty and user autonomy.

Satellite networks are truly amazing. Just imagine being able to surf freely in places that are normally blocked... Really? If this gets widespread, the entire game will change. Distributed network infrastructure, in simple terms, is the endgame. The nightmare for traditional ISPs begins. Decentralized internet is not a dream, brother. Anti-censorship will eventually be fully implemented. This move is pretty aggressive. Are national security agencies panicking... Satellite internet vs traditional infrastructure, is this a dimensionality reduction attack? The Web3 community is going to be ecstatic. This is the vision they've been hyping all along.

Satellite networks are indeed a powerful tool to bypass censorship. It's a real breakthrough that Iran can now use them.
