Just ran into some firmware code that completely ignored the GPL license obligations—never contributed anything back to the open source repository. Classic move, right? Well, turns out I'm not the type to let that slide. Going to have to rebuild and fix this mess myself. Here's the thing: you really don't want to test the patience of someone who actually cares about free software principles. Respect the license, or the community will remember. Always.

Things like GPL can easily backfire; some teams just don't take open source seriously.

GPL freeloaders are too extreme. People like this should be thoroughly criticized by the community.

This is the true spirit of open source, and we cannot let this free-riding behavior continue.

GPL violation issues really can't be tolerated; an investigation is needed.
