It's January 3rd again. On this day in 2009, Satoshi Nakamoto successfully mined the Bitcoin Genesis Block, officially igniting this global financial experiment. In the blink of an eye, 17 years have passed.

What is special about this Genesis Block? It is not just a data block. Its hardcoded design makes it permanently verifiable, meaning anyone, at any time, can trace back to Bitcoin's original state. Starting from this block, Bitcoin's ledger began to operate, and the network was officially launched.

From a single block to today's global distributed ledger, the path Bitcoin has taken has changed people's understanding of the nature of money, trust mechanisms, and financial freedom. No longer relying on intermediaries or a single authority—this idea seemed somewhat fanciful in 2009, but now it has profoundly influenced the entire industry ecosystem.

Interestingly, many people may still not know what January 3rd means for Bitcoin. It is not just a date but the starting point of an ongoing revolution. The story is far from over.

Hardcoded design for permanent verifiability was indeed very advanced at the time, but don't overhype it—tracing on-chain data and preventing reentrancy bugs are two different things. Nowadays, many projects' permission controls are even more casual than the designs back then.

It's been 17 years, and are there still people who don't know the significance of January 3rd? That's the most heartbreaking part, really.

I don't know why, but I just think Satoshi Nakamoto is incredibly awesome. One person created something that the whole world is playing with.

It's been 17 years, and I still have to admit that Satoshi Nakamoto is really impressive.

It's been 17 years, and we're still talking about the Genesis Block. I wonder how many people truly understand what decentralization really means today.

It's been 17 years, and people are still hyping the Genesis Block. I just want to know how many people truly understand decentralization now, or are they still being exploited by big players.

ngl the genesis block anniversary posts hit different when you realize most retail still thinks bitcoin is just digital gold... the real alpha was always in understanding the narrative architecture from day one, not the price action 🎯

It's been 17 years, and the Genesis Block is still there, never changing. This is what true trust is all about.

Still talking about the same story after 17 years, aren't you tired of it?
