I only donated to orphans and the Love Lunch program. I basically haven't donated any money this year.
Last year, I didn't donate much either, just over a hundred thousand.
I also don't plan to let anyone know, just donate a little after seeing it myself.
Last time there was an offline event for Tencent Charity at Chunxi Road, I donated 1 yuan to a small peripheral. I was thinking of opening my donation account to show the girl who organized the event.
As a result, the little girl didn't even look at me and directly said, "Just donate one yuan, can't you even donate one yuan?" Her words choked me up a bit, caught in my throat. After three years of public welfare donations, it's the first time I've felt that donating money to such organizations really makes me feel nauseous and even doubting whether the money I've donated can actually reach the children I intended to help. How much of the lunch boxes, milk, and assistance I've provided to families do they actually receive?
The recent fire incident in Hong Kong was the same; after seeing the news, I looked for the most convenient way to contribute within my means, whether it was a little or a lot, it's still money.
I also don't like to create such traffic. If I donate a lot, the traffic will be huge. If I post a picture of an 8-dollar donation, I estimate the traffic will be even larger. I just feel that in the face of right and wrong, one should act correctly and sit properly, doing the right thing.
