Don't remind me again today

This year I've mainly been using a wallet from a leading exchange, after all, my assets are all there, and I've gotten used to it, so I feel secure—at least if there's an issue with the platform, there will be some explanation. The coins in those old wallets on-chain are basically from my previous DeFi activities and new investments, along with some long-term positions, scattered across dozens of addresses, each just a few k to tens of k USD. To be honest, I'm really too lazy to migrate them one by one.

In the past couple of days, I've seen news about people's wallets being stolen, and it suddenly made me a bit anxious, so I quickly checked my asset distribution. Everyone should pay attention to wallet security on a regular basis, don't wait until something happens to regret it.

The exchange wallet is convenient, but having decentralized holdings is truly exhausting. Wait, you just leave dozens of addresses on-chain like that? Aren't you worried about private key management issues? I laughed at the excuse of being too lazy to migrate; when it really gets stolen, you'll regret it. In fact, both centralized and decentralized have risks; the key is to pay attention yourself. By the way, how do those guys who got stolen usually operate? Is it a browser wallet or something else?

Hearing you say that, I also need to check it out, feeling a bit scared. --- I really relate to the laziness in migrating, it's a common issue among retail investors. --- Why do we always think about prevention only after something happens? This habit needs to change. --- Managing dozens of addresses is really a headache, I'm just the same. --- Exchange wallets are indeed convenient, but being so dependent on them is quite dangerous. --- The probability of small, dispersed coins getting stolen is low, but I'm worried about the concentrated ones getting into trouble. --- Many people actually agree with your statement, the sense of security and convenience will always be a contradiction.

Wow, I really got scared this time. I also have funds spread across dozens of addresses, small amounts but many of them, just thinking about it makes my scalp tingle. --- I guess I have to start organizing my Wallet, the consequence of being too lazy is like this. --- So how do you all store your Private Keys? I'm feeling a bit paranoid right now. --- The wallets from top exchanges are indeed tempting, but it doesn't feel right to put all your eggs in one basket. --- That's why I'm still using a hardware wallet to this day; it's worth the hassle no matter what. --- Having tens of thousands of dollars spread across a dozen addresses is indeed a bit reckless; I need to verify everything again, just to be safe. --- Looks like I need to catch up on the lesson of Wallet security, or it'll be a problem sooner or later.

nah this is peak "i'll deal with it later" energy... until you can't. exchange wallet for convenience, scattered addresses for "security" — classic setup for the inevitable post-mortem thread. tbh the real vulnerability isn't the wallet, it's the mindset. lazy migration today = compromised assets tomorrow, happens every cycle without fail.

Only when the coins are scattered do we realize the fear, why didn't we do it earlier, haha

Here are a few comments with differentiated styles: --- I really don't want to migrate this, but now seeing the news, it's a bit scary. --- Asset diversification has become an advantage, haha. --- Wait, dozens of addresses? Your Risk Management is unbeatable instead. --- Centralized Wallets are comfortable, but there's always a thorn in my heart. --- This really needs to be taken seriously, my fren experienced it last month as well. --- Are a few k to tens of k small addresses actually safer? --- This mindset is just like a gambler's, only panicking when things happen.

Haha, I am also this kind of retail investor, coins scattered everywhere and I can't be bothered to manage them. --- The exchange Wallet is indeed comfortable, but really, who can say how long the platform can hold up if something goes wrong? --- Having dozens of Addresses must be really tiring, forget it, I'll just put everything on the exchange. --- The news about Wallets being hacked is really scary, I quickly checked my own Address. --- To put it bluntly, it's always a choice between convenience and security, it's really annoying. --- You still have to diversify the risk, don't put all your eggs in one basket. --- The coins in those old Addresses are basically cost units, there's really no motivation to organize them. --- The key is that migrating them costs money, it's better to just leave them be. --- But I also know that this isn't really right, but who cares when I'm lazy? --- If everything gets stolen, I'd cry to death, I should at least check periodically.
