Don't remind me again today

It's quite ironic to say - a bunch of projects claim to prioritize "privacy first" but then ask you to submit your identification scans, bind your email, and even dig into your Wallet history. Not many truly understand it, but zkPass is one.

The idea is actually quite straightforward: the verification should not be controlled by others; it should be up to you to decide. The process is not complicated—first, connect to any Web2 account (Twitter, GitHub, or any exchange will do), then run a zero-knowledge proof locally, and finally, send this proof to the party that needs to verify it. Throughout the entire process, your original data does not leave your premises.

The charm of this thing called ZKP lies in this: I can prove that I am me, but you can't see exactly who I am. It sounds esoteric, but it is actually one of the most essential infrastructures that should be popularized in the current Web3 identification layer.

This is true privacy, not the nonsense of "I'll protect your privacy for you". ZKP should indeed become standard; otherwise, it's just a change of clothes to continue scraping user data. Identification shouldn't be something anyone can rummage through your pockets; the idea of zkPass is spot on. Another bunch of projects are going to be slapped in the face; shouting slogans loudly but ultimately the same old routine. Zero-knowledge proofs really need to be popularized sooner; if we delay any longer, web3 will be for nothing. Simply put: prove I have no problem, but don't think you'll find out who I am; that's what privacy is.

This zkPass really gets privacy right, that trap from other projects is just laughable. Finally, someone has explained zk-SNARKs clearly, this is the way it should be. Privacy is shouted about every day, but then they want your identification, it's just the bad coin driving out the good. Once local proof is run, the data can't be moved at all, that's what real autonomy is. Speaking of which, if this logic is promoted, it will solve a lot of issues related to Web3 identification.

Damn, finally someone has clarified this matter, most projects are indeed just paper tigers. I have high hopes for zkPass, local proof without linking to original data, that's what true privacy is. Actually, ZKP should have become a standard by now, those projects still bragging will eventually crash. It feels like there are very few in Web3 who truly understand privacy. The point of having verification rights in your own hands is amazing, we should applaud the idea behind zkPass.

Wake up, most "privacy projects" are just bluffing; the idea behind zkPass is truly reliable. Honestly, the zk-SNARKs gameplay should have been a standard by now. Privacy first? Laughable, let’s talk after you submit your identification. zkPass really got the point; local verification is the way to go. Seriously, why are people just now figuring out ZKP? If this thing truly becomes widespread, the whole KYC system will need a complete overhaul. Having verification rights in your own hands is what Web3 should look like.

This is true privacy, not those fake pretenses that talk about distributed systems but still end up with centralized scrutiny.
