Washington is in an uproar again tonight. The Senate is in a heated argument, with the Republicans and Democrats fighting tooth and nail over the government shutdown issue.
The situation is this: The Republican side is very clear - first, get the government running, and then we can talk about the rest slowly. As for the Democrats? They are quite the opposite, insisting that the fundamental issues must be resolved before they are willing to budge. Although it seems like there might be some signs of reconciliation, in reality, neither side is willing to make concessions.
The Republican Party initiated a vote tonight regarding the S.3012 proposal—this thing was brought up in late October, originally intended to completely resolve the shutdown issue. Now it seems they have changed their mind, no longer seeking a full reopening, at least let’s distribute salaries for the employees still on the job, right? And what happened? The Democrats didn’t even buy this, directly rejecting it.
The Senate is now a battlefield, with lawmakers pulling all-nighters to battle it out. At this rate, what Trump said before may come true—if the issues aren't resolved, none of these people will be going home for the weekend; they'll all have to stay in Washington and wait it out. No one can say for sure if there will be any votes or when they might happen. This drama is just getting started.
That said, there's no need to panic too much in the crypto space. As long as the two parties are still bickering, it means there's still something to talk about, and market sentiment won't completely collapse. Moreover, the atmosphere in the Senate is much better than before, with both sides seriously looking for a way out, rather than just engaging in pure tearing each other apart.
How is Bitcoin going this weekend? I think there's no need to worry too much for now. What do you all think?
