CEX has been accused in the United States of "facilitating the Hamas terrorist organization"

On November 25, The Block reported that CEX is facing a lawsuit accusing the crypto assets trading platform of knowingly assisting Hamas in transferring funds before the armed group's attack on Israel in 2023. The lawsuit was filed on Monday in the U.S. District Court for North Dakota, with over 300 victims of the attack and their families as plaintiffs. The lawsuit targets CEX and its co-founders CZ and senior executive Guangying Chen. The complaint states: “For years, CEX has knowingly, willfully, and systematically assisted Hamas, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard of Iran, Hezbollah, the Palestinian Islamic Jihad, and other terrorist organizations in transferring and concealing hundreds of millions of dollars through the CEX platform to support their terrorist activities. This assistance directly and substantially contributed to the events of October 7 and the subsequent terrorist attacks carried out by Hamas, Hezbollah, and the Palestinian Islamic Jihad.” Reports indicate that CEX is currently facing multiple similar lawsuits in the U.S., accusing it of facilitating cryptocurrency transactions related to FTOs. A CEX spokesperson stated on Tuesday that the company cannot comment on any ongoing litigation.
