Lighter Mainnet officially launched, kicking off the second season of the points program.

On October 2, according to official news, Perp DEX Lighter announced that its Mainnet based on Ethereum L2 has officially launched after 8 months of private testing and is now fully open. The first season of the points program has ended, and the second season will continue until the end of 2025, with specific ways to earn points to be announced soon. Users can now join freely, without the need for an invitation code or deposit limits, but the invitation program remains, allowing invitees to earn points and other incentives. The Lighter protocol smart contracts have passed audits and a public report has been released, while a brand new blockchain explorer has also gone live, making it easier for users to view orders and transaction statuses. Retail investors will enjoy free low-frequency or medium-frequency trading on the front end, while API trading (including market makers and high-frequency traders) has started to incur fees, with automatic rules introduced to prevent wash trading and Sybil Attack. With the start of the second season of points, the team will disclose more data regarding fee distribution, LLP holder earnings, and the protocol treasury mechanism.
