Toyota Global Sales Drop 7.4% in May, Fourth Consecutive Monthly Decline

According to Toyota, the automaker's global sales fell 7.4% year-over-year in May to 885,207 units, marking the fourth consecutive month of decline. Production also slipped 5.8% to 857,765 units.

Toyota projects operating profit of 3 trillion yen ($18.8 billion) for the fiscal year ending March 2027, below analyst expectations and down from 3.8 trillion yen achieved in the prior 12 months, citing rising raw material costs.
