Netradyne’s AI Driver Monitoring System
Netradyne, an Indian startup, is deploying AI-powered cameras in commercial vehicle fleets to monitor driver behavior and reduce accidents. The inward-facing cameras focus on the driver rather than passengers, alerting drivers when they exceed speed limits or display risky habits such as distraction or fatigue, according to company executives.
How the Technology Works
Netradyne’s flagship system combines inward- and outward-facing cameras. According to Vinay Rai, one of the company’s executives, the device blurs passengers and pedestrians, keeps its focus on the driver, and switches off inward monitoring the moment the vehicle stops. Footage is then overwritten unless there’s a safety event.
The company frames its pitch as intervention rather than surveillance. By flagging risky driving habits early, Netradyne says it can help fleets reduce accidents and associated costs, including insurance claims, legal liability, downtime, and repairs.
Performance Claims and Data
Netradyne reports that customers see a 70% to 80% reduction in accident rates within 12 months of deploying its flagship device. The company also notes that its systems have analyzed more than 30 billion driving miles, with over 1 billion miles monitored every month.
The broader context: in 2019, distracted driving cost the US economy US$98.2 billion, highlighting the economic gap between everyday risky driving behavior and its eventual consequences.
Edtech Consolidation: upGrad to Acquire Unacademy
India-based edtech firm upGrad is set to buy Unacademy, another edtech company, in an all-stock deal valued at US$218 million. This acquisition reflects a sector-wide shift toward consolidation as growth slows in edtech. Rather than competing on content alone, companies are consolidating to scale personalized learning products and high-quality human teaching capabilities. Unacademy’s 90% valuation drop underscores the correction in the sector.
Malaysia Probes Arm Semiconductor Deal
In March 2025, UK-based chip design firm Arm signed a 10-year semiconductor licensing deal with Malaysia worth around US$250 million. Malaysia’s anti-corruption agency is investigating former minister Rafizi Ramli over alleged abuse of power tied to US$277 million in related investments.

Karpathy unveils: a complete method for building your own knowledge base with LLMs
OpenAI founding team member and former Tesla AI chief Andrej Karpathy posted on X a “LLM Knowledge Bases” workflow, explaining how he recently shifted his large token usage from “controlling code” to “controlling knowledge”—using an LLM to turn scattered papers, articles, folders, and images into a self-maintaining personal wiki. The whole process has already accumulated ~100 articles, ~400k words in his own research projects, and the entire pipeline is written and updated by the LLM. This article summarizes Karpathy’s complete setup and provides developers who want to replicate it with an actionable checklist.
Core idea: raw data → LLM compilation → wiki → Q&A
