Japan Food Prices Hit Another Wave: 20,000+ Products Expected to Surge in 2026

According to Japan's Imperial Data Bank, 2,566 food and beverage products are set to increase prices in July, with over 20,000 price hikes expected for the full year as of June 30. The survey of 195 major food manufacturers shows that rising raw material costs and geopolitical tensions in the Middle East are driving persistent price increases. As of now, nearly 15,000 food and beverage items have already confirmed price increases this year.
