According to Iranian media on May 30, Iran's parliament is set to approve a plan to assert sovereignty jurisdiction over the Strait of Hormuz, with the measure expected to become permanent law, said Salimi, a member of the parliament's presidium.

Iran has coordinated with Oman, which has expressed preliminary agreement, and both nations will finalize the arrangement soon. According to the Iranian Students News Agency, Salimi stated that only Iran and Oman have the authority to decide on the strait's management approach.
