China's First 550-MW F-Class Gas Turbine Project Achieves Full Capacity Operation on June 30

According to Xinhua News Agency, China's first 550-megawatt F-class gas turbine project, operated by China Huadian in Tongan, Chongqing, achieved full-capacity operation on the morning of June 30. The project comprises two 550.12-megawatt combined-cycle gas and steam turbine units with a total installed capacity of 1,100 megawatts and expected annual power generation of 2.1 billion kilowatt-hours, sufficient to meet annual electricity demand for approximately 1.75 million households. The project will conserve 200,000 tons of standard coal and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 860,000 tons annually.
