China Calls on Lithuania to Return to One-China Principle, Says Embassy Door Open

According to Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun on June 22, China's Foreign Ministry responded to questions about reopening its embassy in Lithuania. The ministry said the current difficulties in China-Lithuania relations stem from Lithuania's violation of the one-China principle and its breach of political commitments made in the bilateral founding communique. China said its door for dialogue remains open and called on Lithuania to take action to correct its mistakes and return to upholding the one-China principle to create conditions for normalization of bilateral relations.
