Binance Withdrew Greece MiCA Application Last Week Amid Political Opposition, Says CZ

According to Changpeng "CZ" Zhao, Binance founder, the exchange withdrew its MiCA license application in Greece last week after political forces blocked approval, despite the filing being fully compliant and close to being authorized. Zhao said at least one EU regulator was prepared to approve the application and two EU member states had expressed interest in hosting Binance's authorization.

The withdrawal adds urgency for Binance ahead of the July 1 deadline, when unlicensed crypto firms must cease EU operations. Binance said it will now pursue authorization in another EU country while remaining committed to securing MiCA approval in the coming months.
