Aluminum Prices Fall 16% in June, Lowest Since February as Dollar Strengthens

XAL-0.61%
According to Jin10, aluminum prices fell to their lowest level since mid-February in June as the strengthening U.S. dollar pressured industrial metals. Aluminum declined 16% for the month, marking the largest single-month drop since 2008. The dollar index has risen for two consecutive days and gained 2.5% over the past two months, increasing costs for commodity buyers pricing in U.S. currency.
