An 'early' Bitcoin whale moved another 40,000 BTC
A wallet associated with an activated "early" whale transferred 40,192 BTC to a new address. The transaction amount was $4.77 billion, according to Arkham.
Approximately half of this amount arrived on July 15 at two wallets that analysts linked to Galaxy Digital.
The remaining 40,192 BTC whale has likely consolidated them into one new wallet. The funds came from four addresses, to which they were initially distributed on July 4th. The transfer was preceded by two test transactions of 1 BTC each.
Analysts from Lookonchain suggested that the first batch of coins was prepared by the whale for sale through the over-the-counter service Galaxy Digital.
The movement of funds has sparked debates about the identity of the owner. Among the theories, Roger Ver, the CIA, and Satoshi Nakamoto himself were mentioned.
As a reminder, from January to March, approximately 62,800 BTC that had been inactive for over seven years "woke up" and changed wallets, according to CryptoQuant.
