Bitcoin ATM operator Athena Bitcoin has been sued by the U.S. justice system for high fees and neglecting elderly fraud.
PANews September 9 news, according to Decrypt report, Brian L. Schwalb, the prosecutor of Washington D.C., has sued the Bitcoin ATM operator Athena Bitcoin, accusing it of failing to disclose fees of up to 26% and ignoring scams targeting elderly users. The lawsuit claims that Athena operates 4,100 ATMs in five countries, with some users charged Bitcoin exchange fees far above market rates, and receipts not clearly indicating the fees.
