After a highly provocative post from Avalanche founder Emin Gün Sirer that mocked Ripple’s institutional adoption, Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse stepped into the fray to deliver a counter-punch.

As previously reported by U.Today, Sirer attempted to roast Ripple’s core business narrative with a rage-baiting jab: “Banks are choosing Ripple. April Fools, obviously. They actually use Avalanche.”

Expectedly, the “XRP Army” immediately flooded the replies with market cap comparisons and lists of Ripple’s actual banking partners

Garlinghouse also joined the fight, stating that he is glad that Ripple is living “rent-free” in Sirer’s head

It is worth noting that Ripple remains a massive player deeply entrenched in cross-border payments with the likes of Santander and SBI Holdings

Simultaneously, Avalanche’s Subnet architecture is locking down major tokenization pilots with Wall Street giants of the likes of J.P. Morgan and Citi.

Garlinghouse’s public feuds

The Ripple CEO is no stranger to sparring with other prominent personalities on social media

As reported by U.Today, he famously engaged in a bitter feud with Tether CEO Paolo Ardoino before the two seemingly buried the hatchet. The spat kicked off when Garlinghouse publicly stated that Tether could be the crypto industry’s next “black swan event.” Ardoino immediately snapped back, calling Garlinghouse an “uninformed CEO.”

Garlinghouse has perpetually been in the crosshairs of Bitcoin maximalists. He playfully pushed back against Riot Platforms’ Pierre Rochard and Strike founder Jack Mallers when they accused Ripple of actively lobbying against the creation of a Bitcoin-exclusive U.S. strategic reserve.
