After playing the S8 individual competition for a few days—starting with a streak of consecutive losses but then stabilizing and playing steadily—I’ve summarized 3 real takeaways. Hope this helps everyone 👇
1️⃣ Don’t be greedy at the start—feel out your opponent’s cards first
For the first 3 hands, use small positions to test as much as possible and observe the opponent’s style (whether they’re an aggressive all-in type or a conservative type). If you run into an “overheated” player, wait for them to chase higher and then counter with a short; if you run into a “grinder” type, be patient and wait for them to make a mistake.
2️⃣ Position management is the lifeline
If a single trade loss exceeds 5% of your principal, stop immediately and do a review instead of getting emotional and trying to win it back. I usually split my funds into 20 parts, using only 1 part per trade. If I lose 3 in a row, I take a 15-minute break.
3️⃣ Chase the hot narratives—don’t bet on cold ones
During WCTC, there are often trending themes (for example, the BTC ecosystem and the meme sector). Focus on 1-2 main storylines, catch the trend in the “body of the fish,” and leave the “tail” to others.
One last honest note:
Trading is a long journey, and WCTC is more like a midterm exam—winning a T-shirt is just the icing on the cake; building a stable system is the real payoff.
Wishing you all return home with full spoils! 👊
