[Next Week Alert] As everyone knows, the Fed went dovish on Friday to save the markets. Next week’s market action could be even more exciting, so here’s a preview for everyone! 📝
This week not only brings consumer data, but also the Fed’s favorite PCE, and finally Thanksgiving—things are moving fast! 1️⃣ Tuesday night is the main event: the US will release revised September retail sales data. As you know, 70% of US GDP depends on consumption, so any movement in this data shakes the market—hence the “scary data” nickname. We’ll also be watching PPI, a leading inflation indicator, so don’t take it lightly. 2️⃣ Wednesday night is even more critical! Besides the usual jobless claims, the October PCE price index will be released. ❗ Because of the government shutdown, December’s CPI will be released after the Fed’s meeting! Given the situation with CPI, this PCE is especially important—it’s the Fed’s primary inflation gauge, and whether inflation can return to the 2% target depends on it. 3️⃣ Early Thursday morning, the Fed will also release the Beige Book. With data remaining unclear, this report—full of direct business insights—becomes even more valuable. ⚠️ Final reminder: Due to Thanksgiving, US stock markets will be closed on Thursday, and Friday’s session will end 3 hours early (midnight Saturday). Don’t get caught off guard—manage your risk!
