Gate News message, April 15 — According to Whale Alert, the USDC Treasury minted 250 million USDC on the Ethereum network on April 15, 2025. The transaction was executed via established smart contract protocols and confirmed by network validators.

Circle, the primary issuer of USDC, backs each token with equivalent U.S. dollar reserves held in regulated financial institutions, including cash and short-term U.S. Treasury securities. Whale Alert also reported a separate transfer of 150 million USDC from the USDC Treasury to a major CEX on April 14.

Large-scale minting events are typically associated with anticipated institutional demand for stablecoins across trading and settlement activities. USDC operates under regulatory frameworks including the U.S. Stablecoin Act of 2024, which mandates strict reserve standards and operational practices.
