Samsung SDS Secures Rights to Sell OpenAI's ChatGPT Edu in South Korea

Gate News message, April 27 — Samsung SDS, the IT services arm of Samsung Group, announced it has secured rights to sell OpenAI’s ChatGPT Edu. The company is running a proof of concept with the National Korea Broadcasting and Communications University, covering approximately 90,000 students, professors, and staff.

ChatGPT Edu keeps teacher and student chats out of training data and provides tools for writing, coding, analysis, web browsing, summaries, and custom chatbots. The announcement follows a reseller partnership signed in December 2025. OpenAI says ChatGPT Edu is also used by Oxford, the University of London, Wharton, and the National University of Singapore.
