Digital asset leader Animoca Brands officially announced today (19th) that it has made a strategic investment in Avalanche developer Ava Labs and formed a partnership. The goal is to fully support high-potential projects built on Avalanche through funding and business development guidance. This alliance will focus particularly on the Asian and Middle Eastern markets, with initial development centered on digital identity, real-world assets (RWA), and entertainment.

Global Web3 venture capital and development giant Animoca Brands is making its move again, this time targeting the high-performance public chain Avalanche.
According to an official statement released on March 19, Animoca Brands officially announced a strategic investment in Avalanche’s core development team, Ava Labs, and has established a deep commercial partnership. This initiative aims to leverage Animoca’s extensive investment network and Avalanche’s scalable underlying technology to accelerate the adoption of digital assets worldwide.
Focus on Three Key Areas: Entertainment, RWA, and Digital Identity
This strategic partnership is not just about funding. Animoca Brands states it will support high-potential projects on Avalanche through a three-pronged approach: deploying capital, exploring product integration, and providing strategic consulting.
In the initial phase, both parties will focus on three verticals with explosive growth potential:
- Digital Identity: Building seamless cross-chain and cross-application identity verification infrastructure.
- Real-World Assets (RWA): Promoting tokenization of real assets using Avalanche’s architecture.
- Entertainment and Gaming: Combining Animoca’s content and consumer advantages to create next-generation Web3 entertainment experiences.
Targeting Asia and the Middle East, Recognizing the Potential of “Subnets”
In market expansion, the focus will be on Asia and the Middle East. Ava Labs Chief Business Officer John Nahas said these regions are experiencing continuous growth in digital asset activity, and Animoca’s regional infrastructure and institutional relationships will be a strong boost for Avalanche projects to reach commercialization.
Omar Elassar, Head of Global Strategic Partnerships at Animoca Brands and Managing Director for the Middle East, emphasized Avalanche’s technical advantages:
“We are very selective in choosing partners. Avalanche’s scalable subnet architecture combined with EVM compatibility makes it especially suitable for ‘sovereign and institutional deployments,’ which is a huge growth area we see worldwide.”
