Decentralized finance ( DeFi ) protocol Aave has repurchased a total of 50,000 AAVE tokens over the past two months. The buybacks were conducted as part of the protocol’s weekly $1 million buyback plan.

Aave Bought Back 50,000 AAVE in Two Months: Treasury in Profit, Program Continues

The protocol has spent 10 million dollars in this process so far. The AAVE tokens, with an average purchase price of 199.74 dollars, are valued at approximately 13 million dollars when calculated against the current market price of 264 dollars, which means an unrealized profit of about 3 million dollars.

Buyback Program Continues

This buyout program managed by the Aave community is planned to continue with a weekly volume of 1 million dollars for the first six months. Thus, an annual buyout of approximately 50 million dollars will be realized. There is also a plan to expand the program in the future based on revenue growth.

Since the start of the buyback process, the Aave DAO treasury has consistently remained above 100 million dollars. This situation indicates that the protocol is financially stable and has a sustainable capital structure.

Aave’s aggressive buyback policy is seen as part of a strategy to preserve its value and increase investor confidence by reducing token supply. As the protocol continues to optimize its revenue models, all eyes will be on new developments to be announced in the coming weeks.
