Zuckerberg: I would rather waste 100s of billions than fall behind in the AI field.

According to a report by Jinse Finance, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg stated that he is willing to invest heavily to ensure the company does not fall behind in the AI sector. In a podcast that aired on Thursday, he said that an AI bubble is "very likely" to occur, but for Meta, the greater risk is hesitation. "If we ultimately waste 100s of billions, I think that would obviously be very unfortunate. But what I want to say is that I actually think the risk on the other side is greater." If a company develops too slowly and the arrival of artificial superintelligence comes sooner than expected, it will be at a disadvantage "in what I think is the most important technology, which will be able to enable most new products, innovations, value creation, and history." Zuckerberg added, "The risk, at least for a company like Meta, might be not being aggressive enough rather than being overly aggressive."
