According to a new BBC investigation, traders have repeatedly placed millions of dollars in bets on financial markets just minutes or hours before major market-moving announcements by President Trump.
The report identifies a consistent pattern of unusual trading spikes that some analysts say bears the hallmarks of illegal insider trading — using non-public information for profit. The White House did not respond to the BBC’s request for comment.
