Four Gold Miners Lead Today's Best Growth Stocks Onto IBD 50, Other Premium Lists

Gold miner Newmont (NEM) rose 6.5% Friday and joined the Big Cap 20. And electronics manufacturer and AI play Fabrinet (FN) rose onto the IBD 50 best stocks list. Shares of aerospace/defense stock Innovative Solutions (ISSC) rose to the highest point since 2007 and ISSC qualified for the Stock Spotlight.

Meanwhile, security and safety firm Napco Security (NSSC) climbed 3.7% and joined Fabrinet in IBD’s flagship IBD 50 watchlist. Cancer treatments specialist Septerna (SEPN) went public in October 2024 and is the sole new stock on IPO Leaders. Last quarter, Septerna took off and reported a 139% jump in EPS on a more than 1,000% leap in revenue.

Gold Stocks Hold Allure While Other Sectors Fade

Newmont is among the top gold stocks. Last quarter it recorded a 111% rise in EPS to $1.71 on 20% higher revenue at $5.52 billion. Gold and other precious metals have held fast while much of the rest of the market including Big Tech retreated recently. On Friday, in addition to Newmont, three other gold mining stocks were named to top performer lists. In all, 10 stocks were elevated onto various IBD best stock lists.
