As a result, altcoins keep falling, falling again, and falling further.
Everyone is waiting for that legendary bull market top and the altcoin rotation, but it has never actually happened.
Now, regardless of when the market bottoms out, I believe the real capital remaining in altcoins will be much less than in 2022, even if the market cap is higher.
I truly believe there will be a moment when "sellers will sell all their coins," and then the real altcoins will start to take off.
Those who have PTSD from this cycle will miss out on early easy gains and may repeatedly switch in and out during the early stages of a narrative cycle.
Until they finally realize that altcoins can still make money, and then we will reach the peak.
Think back to early 2022/2023, when people on X were expecting a true altcoin rotation similar to 2017 and 2021 in the later stages of the cycle, and were allocating positions accordingly.
Everyone believed ETH and ETH-based projects would yield several times returns measured in BTC, and they started early, which really resulted in losses.
When we finally hit the bottom, multiple "SOL"-like opportunities will emerge.
Clearly, asset selection, Sharpe ratio, and other factors will be very important; the days of blindly going all-in and winning are over.
But it seems that since 2017, believing that altcoins can outperform Bitcoin has become a huge contrarian view for the first time.
