Chery employees complain about difficulty taking time off during Spring Festival: only 1 day off for out-of-province, direct ban on leave within the province
Fast Technology, February 12 — Recently, several Chery employees have spoken out on social media, expressing dissatisfaction with the company’s leave management policies implemented before and after the Spring Festival.
There are some differences in leave rules across different departments:
Some employees revealed that their departments prohibit employees within the province from taking leave altogether, while employees outside the province can only apply for one day off, and annual leave cannot be used during this period.
Other employees stated that employees outside the province can take two days off, and those within the province can take one day. Some employees who purchased return tickets in advance for their hometowns have had their travel plans affected due to leave restrictions. There are even cases where leave requests from employees outside the province, who are 800 kilometers away from home, were not approved.
Additionally, some employees complained that certain regions require an 80% attendance rate on February 13. The leave approval process is complicated, and approval is difficult to obtain.
Beyond leave restrictions, Chery employees also reported that the company begins collecting employee leave intentions before major holidays, sending multiple messages throughout the day to urge employees to fill out forms. If employees choose to take leave after the holiday, HR will arrange for leadership to communicate and reject the application.
Some employees also mentioned that they are prohibited from taking leave before the holiday but are asked to work overtime for two days after the holiday. The company has been sending daily Spring Festival duty rosters, making it difficult for employees to enjoy a proper Spring Festival break.
