On February 11th, the Bitcoin BIP repository accepted the P2MR (BIP-360) draft, removing Taproot key-path spending and committing to Merkle roots to reduce long-term quantum risk. The cost: witness data increased to approximately 103 bytes (vs 66 bytes), transaction fees rose, and privacy decreased. Voluntary adoption of bc1z v2 addresses. #Bitcoin $BTC
