On February 4th, local time, a reporter from CCTV learned that according to the latest on-site investigations and multiple intelligence sources, the U.S. Navy has recently been increasing its military presence in the southern waters of Iran. According to military sources, as of early February, the deployment of U.S. ships in the Persian Gulf and Oman Gulf has shown signs of dynamic adjustments, maintaining a high state of alert overall, which has further heightened regional security tensions. Detailed data indicates that U.S. military operational forces in these waters have shifted. As of early February (up to February 3rd), the total number of U.S. ships in the area remained around 32. Specifically, in Oman Gulf, there is one destroyer and two Coast Guard vessels; in the Persian Gulf, there are nine ships, including one destroyer, three frigates, and multiple support vessels. The most notable “Abraham Lincoln” carrier strike group is currently located in the southern Arabian Sea, east of Socotra Island, Yemen, about 1,400 kilometers from Iran’s Chabahar Port. The U.S. has not responded to Iran’s recent statements regarding this matter. (CCTV News)
