Emerging Market ETFs set a record for the largest cash flow in history

The investment boom in emerging markets is accelerating. It has been revealed that emerging market ETFs have achieved three times the capital inflow compared to past monthly cash flow records. According to Eric Balchunas, senior ETF analyst at Bloomberg Intelligence, these funds account for 3% of total assets under management (AUM) but have absorbed a remarkable 13% of the total cash inflow. This figure illustrates how concentrated investor interest in emerging markets has become.

Where is investor capital flowing? Approximately 40% of the inflows are concentrated in the iShares Core MSCI Emerging Markets ETF (IEMG). However, not only large funds but also other emerging market-related ETFs are benefiting simultaneously, indicating a broad-based selective buying trend across the market.
