The thousands of documents recently released by the U.S. Department of Justice have sparked a new wave of attention in political circles. Trump desperately defended himself against the content of these documents, claiming he was "not friendly" with the late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, attempting to distance himself from the relationship.

This statement stands in stark contrast to historical records. According to recordings released last year by journalist Michael Wolff, Epstein openly stated that Trump was his "closest friend," claiming the two maintained a close relationship for over ten years. When asked how he knew details about Trump’s life, Epstein unambiguously made this statement. The exposure of these recordings makes Trump’s latest claims appear quite passive.

In response to the public release of the DOJ documents, Trump vehemently denied any close relationship on social media, while also pointing fingers at Wolff and other "radical leftists." He claimed Wolff is a "notorious author" who often fabricates information to sell fictional works, lacking basic moral integrity. Trump even stated he has never been to Epstein’s private island, but countered by accusing many Democrats and their supporters of having visited it.

In a heated reply, Trump also claimed that Wolff conspired with Epstein against him, attempting to damage his political reputation. He announced plans to take legal action against certain individuals involved in this matter to try to reverse the public opinion.

This incident highlights Trump’s anxiety over desperately clarifying his relationship with Epstein. The tension between historical records, audio evidence, and current statements makes this public controversy even more attention-grabbing. Whether it’s the DOJ documents or Wolff’s recordings, both have become topics that Trump finds difficult to avoid.
